Play-HQ encourages creative discovery with open-ended activities, workshops and play for children under 5 years of age. We were responsible for re-designing a new play space with the ultimate goal of igniting and fueling this creative spark.

A multidisciplinary team of designers came together, capable of building our new theme ‘Soundscapes’ from the ground up – from idea conception and design right through to construction and final execution of the install.

For ‘Soundscapes’ we tackled the ambitious goal of including both acoustic and digital sound through; a touch sensitive sound wall, a giant interactive mushroom with musical push buttons, a voice echo cave, concentrated soundscapes inside crawl tunnels, tree stump congas, floor to ceiling chiming vines and more.

The installations intersect art, play and creative technology encouraging creative exploration and imagination providing an unforgettable interactive experience for our young tamariki.
